7 Months

My little man is now seven months old. He can army crawl across a room (complete with grunting sounds), he rocks on all fours and does a little "downward dog"-like pose. He can push himself up to a sitting position and lie down on the ground from sitting.

He loves to eat. I've been making my own baby food, and he is definitely a fan. Lest you think his love of food is due to my awesome cooking skills, he also likes the box cereal and jarred sweet potatoes. He takes a bottle pretty well. We had to make him for a while when my milk supply vanished after a nasty illness prevented me from keeping any food down. I'm still giving him a bottle once daily to keep up the skill.

He got another tooth on the 28th, bringing the total to 3. Like Eliana, he is getting "fangs." The tooth next to the top front left tooth just popped through in time for Halloween.

He is quite the babbler. He says "dadadadada" and "mamamama." He only says the latter when he's distressed and the former when he's happy. He likes to play with his voice and often makes a raspy grunting noise just for fun. When he does that Eliana says, "Mom, William is a pirate!" She also loves to copy any noise he makes. They play like that frequently.

He still wakes up a couple of times a night to nurse. I'm reading up on how to best extinguish that behavior without causing long-term trauma. I'm exhausted. We obviously didn't do things the right way with Eliana, because a few nights ago she woke up more often than William. Oh well. Live and learn, right?

He is still a very pleasant and easy going baby. He's so much fun to have around. We love him so, and are so glad he's in our family.

He's getting so big. That's funny about the "dada" and "mama." Sol was the same way.
