Eliana wrote a great little story while I was helping my sister Jessie and her boyfriend Randy with math today. Here it is (spelling changed from phonetic to standard):
Once upon a time there was a mysterious mermaid. She flipped and flopped. Then there was a BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! She went for that sound, then she saw it was a giant, and it said it was going to eat her up. "Oh please don't eat me! I am too little. I am only eight. Is there anything for me to help?"
"Well, I have a pokey in my foot. It makes me to eat persons up."
"I will pull it out."
"Oh thank-you, Mermaid!"
She began to pull it out.
"Ouch!" It was a puncture pokey. Then, they had a picnic.
