Salt Lake trip, day 2

Friday started out with a trip to visit uncle Pat at his clinic. William woke up a million times in the night. Friday morning he was wheezing and having to breathe mid-word when he spoke. Pat gave him a nebulizer treatment and a prescription for an inhaler. I guess I can thank the crappy air in SLC for helping me figure out my son has asthma.

After we got that worked out, we headed to the zoo with Alene Wecker and her cute kids. They have a zoo pass, so we were all able to get in for free. Her oldest two are on the elephant trunk. D. is covering up N., unfortunately, but that's how it goes when you take pictures of kids.
The kids loved the bird show, baby elephant, the giraffes, the carousel...

and the train. But the hit of the day was the baby orangutan. She was so stinkin' cute! She played peak-a-boo with a blanket and a burlap sack. She tried to swing on ropes with a bag over her head. She tried to climb inside the bag while swinging, etc., etc. The kids were laughing so hard. They stayed there for a very long time watching her interact with her mother and father and play with whatever she could find. She also stared at the kids through the glass. They thought that was awesome!

Take a look at these cuties. Numbers three and four in the Wecker family.

We had a great time. Thanks Alene, for hooking us up, and hanging out with us at the zoo.
After the zoo, we stopped by our room to freshen up and give Will a breathing treatment, then headed to Ruth and Pat's house for a fun-filled family barbecue.
Here are the girls having a great time dancing to Dave Matthews.

Here's super Ben.
And a very grown up Kaity.

This dish was delicious. Darryl's brother Allen made it. It involved feta cheese, olives, onions, and other yummy stuff.

We had so much fun visiting with everyone! Thanks Ruth and Pat, for hosting the party, especially since the rain forced us all indoors.
