Unfortunately, this doesn't show quite how disgusting this room was before. It does a pretty good job, though.
The guy who owned the house before us added this lovely strip above the closet--presumably to make more closet space--but never finished the rest of his grand idea. It made the room seem small and crowded. We took that out and the shelves he added next to the closet door. We also opened a door that was painted shut that leads into a smaller room that we are going to use as a walk-in closet/utility room. More pictures of that later.

The paint is a light blue. 
We added this ceiling fan. 
Darryl added the trim around the closet door (and the other doors in the room). In this picture you can see the open doorway that leads to the small room. 
This radiator is newly painted (along with the walls, trim, and window seat). And the carpet looks better in real life. Come visit us to see the finished product in person.
