FHE at the temple grounds

We decided to go to the temple grounds and see the lights for FHE.  We started with the Nativity seen.  We listened to the music and spoken word, then Oohed and Ahhed at the beautiful lights.  Will and Eliana ran up the steps of the temple.  Liz fell asleep on the way there and stayed asleep the whole time!  We then went into the visitor's center and saw a cool display of manger scenes from around the world and watched a couple of videos.

As we were leaving, I remembered that there was a free concert of Handel's Messiah, featuring the Southwest Symphony and Lieto Voices (the choir I used to sing with).  We decided to see if there were any seats left.  By this time, Liz had woken up.  The kids were troopers and made it to the Hallelujah Chorus, which seemed like a good time to sneak out and put the kids to bed.  It was a lot of fun.

The next day I was asking the kids how they liked the music.  Eliana said, "It was good, but not very Christmas-y.  It was all about Jesus!"  Ha!  She quickly saw the error in her statement.
