Lake Powell Trip

We had so much fun at Lake Powell.  We've been trying to go for a few years now, and something has always gotten in the way (last year we had the trip all planned, and my dad had to have emergency gal bladder surgery)!

Since I am already hugely pregnant, I stayed in a hotel room with Liz at the Marina, and the bigger kids camped on the beach with everyone else.

The weather was gorgeous, though the water was a bit too cold to swim in.  My mom was hatching plans for baby Lincoln's safety in case of emergency--we were riding in the boat to Rainbow Bridge when she calmly said, "do you think a cooler would float if we stuck Lincoln in it and stayed right by it until help arrived?"

We brought our tiny boat, and my parents rented a great boat for cruising.  At one point, the rental stopped working--luckily close to antelope marina.  Darryl checked things out and discovered it was out of oil.  Not just a little low, either.  They had to add 7.5 quarts of oil!!

We were already making plans for next year before we left.
